Thursday, Jan. 12 – Academic, author and NAACP leader Dr. Ivory A. Toldson speaks from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lane Community College in Building 19, Room 224, at the main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene. Free. Also streamed: register for Zoom at bit.ly/3k359Kq
Friday, Jan. 13 – Pastor Kim McGrew speaks at an event hosted by H.O.N.E.Y. and Culture CLUB, with music and entertainment by Ratie D, Gilbert Zvamaida, John Mambira, Kunu, Darlene Jackson, lion dancers and youth dancers. 6 to 8:30 p.m., Venue 252 (252 Lawrence). Register to reserve food; seating is first come, first served
Monday, Jan. 16 – Eugene-Springfield NAACP hosts the MLK March and community celebration. The March begins at 10:30 a.m. at Autzen Stadium, 2700 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. A community celebration begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Hult Center. Volunteer!
Monday, Jan. 16 – Springfield’s march, hosted by Springfield Alliance for Equity and Respect, begins at 1 p.m. at the Springfield Justice Center, 230 4th St. A celebration follows at Springfield High School. Spanish-language interpretation available.
