Program Committee

The Program Committee meets regularly on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. If you have a passion for coordinating programs that inform, educate, and inspire, then please contact us for the meeting time and place!

Fundraising Committee

Do you have a background in fundraising and development? The City Club welcomes people with a desire to share their experiences in this area. The fundraising committee meets once or twice a month at a downtown location to discuss and coordinate process to help the organization financially support its mission.

Volunteer

The volunteer coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the volunteer programs associated with the club’s board of directors, committees and administrator. A desire to learn database skills is needed. This is an opportunity for mature individuals who wish to apply their knowledge to help the City Club grow, or for younger people wishing to gain practical experiences in the nonprofit realm.

The position is 3-5 hours per week; days and hours of work are flexible. This job can be performed at home, though a phone and reliable internet and computer is needed. Initially the coordinator will need to visit the City Club office (12th and Oak, there is no parking on site) once a week for about an hour.

Essential Functions

  1. Organizes and coordinates our volunteer base
  2. Recruits new volunteers
  3. Develops and implements training programs for all volunteers
  4. Maintains updated online records on all volunteers and manages timesheets
  5. Sets up and attends volunteer meetings. Reports to staff on volunteer activities as needed
  6. Makes Recommendations and develops ongoing volunteer utilization
  7. Makes Recommendations for a volunteer recognition program

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct staff supervisory responsibilities, but will coordinate the entire volunteer force.

Required Education and Experience

Previous membership with the City Club and familiarity with our Friday Forums is highly desired. Three years or more of successful volunteer coordination experience is preferred Most importantly, we are seeking a person with a passion to help the City Club and who wants to learn more about the civic involvement process.

The position is 1-2 hours per week; days and hours of work can be flexible, though Thursday late morning or early afternoon is preferred to help preparing for the forum on Friday.

The web content volunteer helps to manage digital assets associated with the City Club website. This includes: updating copy, renaming files, cataloging our backlog of graphics, creating an image library, and helping to archive our previous programs.

A desire to learn web skills is needed.

The position is 1-2 hours per week; days and hours of work can be flexible. After an initial training period, much of this work can be completed remotely.
