At the time of this program, Oregon was again considering a single payer health care bill, and two state senators and three state representatives from Lane County sponsored a single payer bill. Is single payer healthcare worth the trouble? What problems will it solve? What problems will it create Should we encourage our Lane County legislators to continue to embrace the concept or reject it? In this program, two thoughtful commentators discuss the pros and cons of single payer healthcare in Oregon.

He earned a BA from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Public Administration from Portland State.

Samuel Metz is a retired physician, a member of Oregon Physicians for a National Health Program, and a founder of Mad As Hell Doctors, both of which advocate for universal health care. (He is also one of the founders of the Oregon City Club Consortium.)
