Board Minutes, Apr 24, 2025

City Club of Eugene

Present: Andrew Kalloch (President), Kathryn Adair (Treasurer), Sandy Smalley (Secretary),
Alyssa Gilbert, Thomas Hiura, Kelly Johnson, Ralph Pledger
Absent: Joey Bruckner, Marti Ravits
Minutes of last meeting approved.

President’s Report: Andrew
Election of new Board members takes place in May. The 3 candidates will submit a photo and short biography by next week. These will go out with the ballots.
As Andrew steps back from the President’s position, we should consider dividing up the weekly tasks he currently does.
Sandy will pick up the Yumm Bowls and coffee for lunch.
Ralph and Kelly will be responsible for program set up.
Alyssa will monitor our emails.
We should consider a summer membership push. The most effective tool is a direct mail message with one or two testimonials. Thomas can use this to introduce himself.
Josh is working on our annual report. It should be completed at the end of May.
Kelly is posting to our social media accounts. It would be helpful if Program Committee members would email her prior to fora so she can keep our information up to date.
The social media manager needs to use a professional account, not their private account.

Committee Reports
Membership: Ralph
Membership is stable at 105 members. Ralph has created a spreadsheet for our greeters which tells them whose membership has expired, or is about to expire.
He is going to investigate places to have another meet and greet social gathering for the Club and guests.
Program: Alyssa
We have hosted two Monday evening programs with experts in photography.
Our May 2 forum will be at the Ford Alumni Center on campus. Following the program, we will be treated to a tour of Hayward Field.
The calendar is filled through July, with one open Friday.
Media: Ralph and Marilyn
Joey will present his research about SquareSpace at our next Board meeting.
Ralph discussed his ideas for new equipment. His hope is to go wireless, purchasing from Sweetwater, a supplier with excellent technical assistance and prices similar to Amazon. He will start with a speaker amplifier. The Board has agreed to this purchase. The amount for all equipment may total close to $2,000.
Finance: Kathryn
The Club has received few donations, but we have received $500 from one of our grants.

Respectfully submitted,
Sandy Smalley, Secretary
