Local Economy: A Course for Teachers

Beginning at 4 pm on January 10, City Club of Eugene will again be sponsoring a course for secondary teachers who want to learn more about economic activities in our community.

The goal is to nourish teachers’ ideas for helping students imagine themselves as productively engaged adults, using their school learning to inform their lives and work. We collaborated with Lane Education Service District, Lane Workforce Partnership, Collaborative EDO, Onward Eugene, the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce, and Connected Lane County to identify employers in lively sectors of the local economy. Already we have commitments from Rosen Aviation, Palo Alto Software, Reynolds Electric and Plumbing, Meili Construction, and Pivot Architecture to host visits.

The course will meet from 4 to 6:30 on Wednesdays from January 10 through March 20. For details about how to sign up, use the Contact Us form.
