Autobiographical Statement from Marilyn Milne

Growing up on a dairy farm near Tillamook, I saw that my parents were strategic, hardworking and ethical. I have the same goals for my business, Public Relations Services.

My professional work spans media relations, community relations, strategic advice and counsel, government relations, social media and business writing. I enjoy working with a variety of organizations, from small nonprofits to businesses in growth modes, from food manufacturing to software to healthcare to higher education. Current clients include Serenity Lane (25 years) and Kaiser Permanente Northwest (10 years).

I earned my M.S. from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. I have been an adjunct instructor there for classes in public relations writing and public relations campaigns.

I am active in my community. Currently, I am serving a second stint on the City Club of Eugene’s board and leading its Media Committee; I also provide the club’s social media content and podcast episodes, assist in maintaining its website and, in the past, have led the board’s strategic planning. I am a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for CASA of Lane County and volunteer extensively at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene. I have co-authored a book, Cheese War, published by Oregon State University Press in 2022.
